ICE Zone

ICE (Intensive Curriculum Experience) Zone

 

Children in Year 1 and 2 have access to the ICE zone as part of their foundation subject learning.

 

The foundation subjects units for History, Geography, Computing, Art, DT and RE are planned in across a term. These are taught through a combination of half class teaching by the teachers in the classroom and also through teaching assistant led and independent learning tasks in the ICE Zone. Some of these are led by teaching assistants and others are an opportunity for children to develop their independent learning, following input.

Learning is also consolidated in the ICE zones based on the teaching in class.

Children also have weekly outdoor learning sessions as part of their wider curriculum learning.
